XP LLC (“Explorable,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) operates the Explorable mobile application and related services (the “Service”). This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, who we share it with, and your rights regarding your data.
By using the Service, you agree to the collection and use of information as described in this Privacy Policy.

2c. Location Data
- City selection: You manually select your city. This is stored as a preference, not precise location.
- Check-in location: When you check in at a place, we may verify your proximity. This is a one-time check, not continuous tracking.
- We do not continuously track your location in the background.
You can deny location permissions at any time through your device settings. Some features may be limited without location access.
3. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Operate the Service — authenticate your account, process check-ins, display leaderboards, deliver push notifications
- Personalize your experience — recommend places based on your city and check-in history
- Communicate with you — send push notifications, respond to support requests
- Improve the Service — analyze usage patterns, fix bugs, develop new features
- Ensure safety and security — detect fraud, prevent abuse, enforce our Terms of Service
- Comply with legal obligations — respond to lawful requests from authorities
We do not sell your personal data, serve targeted advertising, or train AI models on your personal content without consent.
4. How We Share Your Information
4a. Publicly Visible Information
The following is visible to other users: your username, profile photo, check-in activity, leaderboard ranking, points, and lists (unless private).

4c. Legal Requirements
We may disclose your information to comply with law, respond to lawful requests, or protect the rights, property, or safety of Explorable, our users, or the public.
4d. Business Transfers
If XP LLC is involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction. We will notify you of any such change.
5. Data Retention
- Account data: Retained until you delete your account
- Check-in data and photos: Retained until you delete your account
- Point events: Retained permanently as part of the leaderboard audit trail (anonymized if account is deleted)
- Push notification logs: Retained for 90 days
- Usage/analytics data: Retained in aggregate form indefinitely
When you delete your account, we will delete or anonymize your personal data within 30 days, except where retention is required by law.
6. Data Security
We implement reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information, including encryption of data in transit (TLS/HTTPS), row-level security policies on our database, secure authentication, and access controls. However, no method of electronic storage is 100% secure.
7. Your Rights and Choices
You have the right to access, update, and delete your personal data through your profile settings or by contacting us.
California Residents (CCPA)
You have the right to know what personal information we collect, delete your personal information, opt out of the sale of personal information (we do not sell it), and non-discrimination for exercising your privacy rights.
EEA, UK, and Switzerland Residents (GDPR)
You have the right of access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, data portability, and to object to processing. To exercise these rights, contact us at legal@getexplorable.com.
8. Children's Privacy
The Service is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe your child has provided us with personal information, contact us at legal@getexplorable.com and we will delete it promptly.
9. Third-Party Links
The Service may contain links to third-party websites. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of these third parties and encourage you to review their policies.
10. International Data Transfers
Your information may be transferred to and processed in the United States. By using the Service, you consent to this transfer. We ensure appropriate safeguards are in place for international transfers as required by applicable law.
11. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be communicated by updating the “Last Updated” date and, where appropriate, by push notification or in-app notice. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.
